I’ve been noticing lately that there has been a lot of discord amongst the freeman on the land & alternative media folks. First, I don’t know why Vinny Eastwood would have even wanted to get into the discussion of freeman concepts with Thomas Sheridan and second, who really cares what Steve Bates has to say about anything.
Speaking on the first matter, neither Vinnie nor Thomas have demonstrated any qualifications to discuss how other people choose to live their lives. They never once in their discussion provided any evidence of their claims outside that Thomas at least merely stated that “he didn’t know anyone who hasn’t paid a price” for leaving the legal world and losing their legal person. To admit not knowing is obviously very different that claiming no one has “killed” their legal person and not paid a price for it.
In their discussion they do at least state that these people are forging the future of man away from statist slavery and towards true freedom but the question of why these “gurus” don’t state up front that the road ahead is a difficult and challenging road is mute. Life is a struggle in and of itself so to state that living free of statism without a legal person is a struggle is like saying heat is hot.
As for Steve Bates and his constant assaults on various “Freemen” and his latest announcement that he was going to quit his efforts in the movement as “the only true freeman is Robert Menard” all I have to say is thank you. I’ve not yet seen even one unique thought or project made by this man. His “documentaries” are always cut and paste pieces of other people’s work. Maybe that’s why he’s giving up on his latest project: because the output on the internet of other people’s ideas has dwindled and he can’t find enough to “steal” to create his latest composition.
My personal opinion on all of this, however, is that everyone has the right to live their life as they please. I have been asked several times to speak out against Steve and have until this point refused. I still reserve any further comment on what I may personally think of Steve Bates or any other person because I DO believe in freedom. By that I don’t mean that one has to live a certain lifestyle or follow a specific philosophy in order to be free. The most enslaved man can be free if he believes himself to be so and if he desires his slavery.
Freedom doesn’t come from some document you completed. Nor does it come from an outside influence like God or government. Freedom comes from within and it’s within every living soul whether human, animal or plant matter. Freedom is the ability and desire to live one’s life as one chooses. That includes the ability to be a slave to another person be that “person” a human being or a corporation. Freedom is the right to make personal choices and live in one’s own way. Freedom is the right to be gay, straight, employee or employer. Freedom is the right to live your own life in any way you choose and if Kate wishes to wear dresses then so be it. If Thomas wants to comply with government corporate policy then so be it. But it’s not any other person’s right to tell another how to live in any way at any time unless and until that person has requested it.
I wish people who claim they desire freedom would simply accept and respect that others are different and desire different things. I have no dislike for those that wish to be corporate slaves governed by public trustees. I have no hatred towards gays, pro-choicers, or religious people. I only have dislike and discourse with those who believe that others should live as they do because that is real slavery and that is what truly kills freedom. That is what creates and allows for wars and conflicts. Acceptance is the only way out of the slavery we experience on our planet. As I saw on Facebook today:
If you are willing to leave others in peace, I don’t really care what else you say, think, believe or do. If you don’t commit or condone aggression against others, you aren’t what’s wrong with the world, and I don’t care if we disagree about religion, or morality, or evolution, or economics, or much of anything else. – Larken Rose
May we all learn from this young man and accept his way of thinking. Then and only then can we all have real freedom and peace.

Well said, Rob. Thank you, once again, for a thought provoking post.
I am not interested in ‘movements’ and have no need for terms like ‘freeman’ etc. I feel and know my freedom, from within (as you have beautifully pointed out above). I don’t need to find it in a movement, or call it something in particular. For me it is about about living my truth, radiating that out into the world, and coming from a place of respect for others freedom to choose, whether they agree with me or not.
I, for one, won’t be sad to see the end of rantings and videos by Steve Bates.
Well, at the risk of offending, I’m fairly interested in “movements”. I like to have at least one a day to keep regular other than that I’m fine without too many of them in my life.
As to name calling I avoid that as best I can. It was the legal system that came up with names like “freeman on the land” and “sovereign citizen” if I’m not mistaken and I’ve never personally called myself any of those. I don’t call them names and I don’t call myself names. At least not anything other than the name my parents gave me and the names others ask me to call them by, Clare.
Thank you for your support and comments and please stay tuned as I will continue to work on this blog as long as I can as I am also using it to assist local people who are dealing with legal issues as well. It’s my belief that the truth is the truth and it needs to be said even if no one else is saying it right now.
Again I thank you for your support and wish you a blessed day. 🙂

P.S. Have you had a chance to view my audio / video page and listen to my interactions in court with an actual Drive While Suspend case? It’s near the bottom and the volume isn’t the best in the courtroom but it’s an actual start to finish matter for a person with only a short meeting missing which isn’t important to the priciples of the action.
Ahh… so you are trying to say that some movements ARE important?! 😉
I will check out the video of which you speak! Thank you!
